2005 WOOD RIVER VALLEY AERIAL FLIGHT

In May of 2005, Benchmark Associates completed an Aerial Mapping project of the entire Wood River Valley as well as of Carey Idaho. This enormous project involved the setting of 180+- Aerial Flight Panels controlled using High Precision GPS. The results are astounding. We now have an extremely clear orthophoto of the Wood River Valley with three dimensional attributes as well. With this data and the advancements in computer hardware and software, we are now able to perform all sorts of unique services for our clients such as 3D modeling, slope analysis and probably the most exciting is a flyover of proposed projects both prior to any construction as well as what the project will look like upon completion. Everything in three dimensions.

We have recently completed 3D mapping of Ketchum’s downtown core using the May 2005 flyover. The final product was a 0.5’ clarity orthophoto of the core of the city in three dimensions- including all existing buildings in 3D. This is being used by the city to plan future growth and to re-visit building and zoning ordinances.

Several other uses of this data are available, from positioning a house to take advantage of the sun at specific times of the year, to views from certain rooms in the house. We feel this will be a great tool for Architects as well as others in the construction and planning phases of a project.

WOOD RIVER HIGH SCHOOL

Benchmark Associates performed all aspects of Civil Engineering and Surveying for the new Wood River High School Project in a timely and efficient manner and was able to stay within budget on this 13 Million+- construction project.

SUN VALLEY COMPANY MAPPING

Benchmark Associates performed Aerial Mapping for all of Sun Valley Companies Land in a timely manner. Including the setting of 100 aerial targets controlled using high precision GPS.
